Isaiah 61 presents a model for ministering to survivors of childhood abuse. The ministry given to Jesus is also given to us as we seek to help repair the damage done to these people. This workshop examines this Biblical model, illustrated by case studies from various sources, including personal experience as both a survivor and lay counselor. It presents a foundation of hope for survivors from the perspective of the past, the present, and the future. The objective of this workshop is to provide practical and theological information for developing a ministry to the abused. Target audience is pastors and church staff as well as professional and lay counselors.
